PRIVATE LESSONS
In home/studio lessons can be tailored to the interest of the student.  Lessons cover a mix of still life, floral, cityscapes and non representational subjects.  Lessons run $20/hour for individual one-on-one sessions. Please contact me (see "contact" page) for additional information.  

Classes for gated or residential communities are also offered and can be tailored to the interest of the residents.  A water source for clean-up is required in the clubhouse as well as large tables and chairs to set up for the course.

PAINTING COASTAL BIRDS IN WATERCOLOR

SUPPLY LIST 

Course Description:

Throughout the year coastal birds make Corpus Christi their home, and migratory birds winter here. Join us while we take the next step in painting with this translucent medium as we spend two days painting birdscapes of our favorite feathered creatures that live amongst us.
A simple drawing composition will be furnished for the class to paint together as well as demonstrations and individual attention. Students are encouraged to bring their own bird photos if they would rather paint from their own references, but please have them already drawn up on your watercolor paper. 
.Students of all painting levels welcomed, however a familiarity with watercolor will be necessary.

COMPOSITION AND DESIGN IN WATER MEDIA

Course Description:
This class is for the intermediate and advanced watercolor student or those using fluid acrylic in a watercolor manner on paper. It is geared toward participant's individual references and will focus on designing compositions to paint. Students will bring their own reference photos, create a value sketch, and paint their own composition. We will discuss elements and principles of design using their reference, so they will be able to edit their references and create a more interesting composition prior to painting. Individual attention will be given to each student daily and group critiques will be offered. Demonstrations will be given each day.
 

Discover Multiple Media Art

Statement of Interest:  
Interested in a variety of art media but want to know more before investing time? Get the opportunity to work with water media collage, salt dyed silks, Ebru marbling, Suminagashi and other techniques all in one course.
Course Description:
This course will expose the student to various art media without delving into months of study on each. Students will learn to float Japanese inks on water and transfer the marbled effects to Asian papers as well as using vibrant acrylics for marbled papers or silk. They will also have the chance to work with water media collage using hand made Asian rice papers and tissues, watercolors and metallic gouache and complete a non-objectal collage. Salt-dyed silks and silk painting will be learned as students explore various painting techniques on fabric. Various painting supplies and silk fabrics are furnished with this course.  Students will get a supply list for the remaining supplies to purchase.
